2014 Roy Estate 'Mr. Evans' Proprietary Red Napa Valley
Winemaker Notes:The 2017 Mr. Evans Proprietary Red immediately offers its signature, exhilarating bouquet of vibrant red and black fruit. Yet in 2017, the iconic Roy Estate blend also presents a captivating savory quality evoking forest floor and black truffles. On the palate, the wine’s structure is an homage to classic Bordeaux—firm, textural and layered. It quickly builds an intense, dark core of blackberry, blueberry and creme de cassis. The notable acidity in the 2017 vintage makes this full-bodied wine exceptionally balanced with a lingering, lively finish. This is an energetic, powerful wine tempered by graceful tannins and its time spent in 100% new French oak barrels. It drinks beautifully now and will improve through 2035 and beyond.
For optimum enjoyment of this wine, please decant and serve at about 60 ºF.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "Terrific fruit, including loads of blackcurrants, blackberry and licorice along with hints of truffle and camphor. The lushness of 2014 is brilliantly displayed in a vibrant, plum, succulent wine that has roundness, gentle tannins, and an appealing, sexy style. Drink it over the next 15-20 years."
