Winemaker Notes: Arista Winery was founded in 2002 by Al and Janis McWilliams. From the beginning the McWilliams have firmly believed that the finest examples of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are produced in small lots. This belief has always led to an emphasis on quality over quantity and a determination to discover and develop unique vineyard sites that reflect the distinct characteristics of the Russian River Valley. In 2012 the McWilliams’ sons, Mark and Ben, took over the family business and now run the day-to-day operations.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "Arista's Russian River Chardonnay is blended from their portfolio of single-vineyard wines, rather than from purchased or declassified fruit. The 2019 Chardonnay Russian River Valley incorporates around 18% to 20% new oak maturation and is scented of quince and peach with touches of toast, matchstick and crushed almonds. The medium-bodied palate is satiny and expansive with concentrated, toasty fruit, refreshing acidity and a long, flavorful finish. This is wonderfully inviting to drink and impressive quality for a "basic" appellation cuvée." (6.23)

Vinous - "The 2019 Chardonnay (Russian River Valley) is a very pretty and complex appellation-level wine. Apricot, chamomile, dried flowers, mint, hazelnut and honey are nicely pushed forward. This deceptively mid-weight Chardonnay packs a pretty good punch." (6.22)

Wine Spectator - "Appealingly rich, with buttery nuances to the apricot, lemon curd and toasted sesame flavors, showing restraint and freshness on the sleek frame. Drink now. 1,700 cases made." (7.22)
