2020 Vasse Felix 'Filius' Cabernet Sauvignon Margaret River
Winemaker Notes: Bright maroon with a red brick edge. Deep, savory Cabernet characters of blackcurrant, dark cherry, damp earth, and cedar mingle with a spicy complexity care of the vibrant Malbec portion. Luscious and juicy upfront, the dark berry fruit is complemented by savory elements of beef stock and dried woody herbs. There is a wonderful length of flavor as the palate transitions to a fine, textural and dusty drying finish in classical Cabernet style.
Blend: 85.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11.8% Malbec, 1.5% Petit Verdot, 1.2% Merlot
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Wine Spectator - "Offers wild berry flavors that are plush and elegant, which mingle with forest floor, sage, dried mushroom, palo santo and a touch of peppermint oil. Delivers tannins that are supple and creamy, with an elegant yet powerful profile."
James Suckling - "Blackcurrants, sage and hints of fresh herbs on the nose. Medium-bodied. Firm tannins and a fresh, vivid finish. Linear and delicious. Drink now"
