2021 Domaine Taupenot-Merme Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Vinous - "The 2021 Mazoyeres-Chambertin Grand cru has more precision and focus than the Charmes-Chambertin. It is nicely detailed, mineral-rich with exquisite red and black fruit, the former more than the latter. The palate is effervescent and vivacious on the opening, with fine definition. Seville orange marmalade and a liberal sprinkling of black pepper and clove towards the satisfyingly long finish. This is a great success and it has the structure to repay cellaring. (95-97pts)"
Burghound - "This is aromatically similar to the Charmes but with notes of plum and better overall layering. There is a bit more mid-palate density to the sleek, intense and solidly powerful flavors that possess notably better depth and persistence on the balanced, built-to-age, compact and quite serious finale. Excellent if you have the patience. (92-94pts)"
