2022 Silverado Vineyards Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Winemaker Notes: This approachable Cabernet offers aromas of blackberry crisp and exhibits flavors of cherry, clove, and a hint of dark chocolate. Full bodied and smooth with a lingering finish.
in 1981, Rob and Diane Miller and her mother, Lillian Disney, established Silverado Vineyards to make wines from the historic sites of their estate. The winery takes its name from the historic vineyard that surrounds it. That vineyard borrowed its name from the abandoned mining town at the top of Napa Valley. Here, over a century ago, Robert Louis Stevenson stayed and wrote, "The beginning of vine planting is like the beginning of mining for precious metals: the winegrower also 'prospects.'"
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "There are more than 25,000 cases of the excellent 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Grown, a blend of fruit from the winery's Coombsville and Stags Leap District properties. Aged in 40% new oak (almost entirely French, although there is a small Hungarian component), it marries notes of cedar and dried spices with ripe cherries. It's medium to full-bodied, silky textured and open-knit, not hugely rich or concentrated, just a nice, balanced effort to drink over the next decade.
