Winemaker Notes: When it was planted in 1996, Kanzler was one of the first vineyards in the rolling hills southwest of the small picturesque town of Sebastopol in western Sonoma County. Only eight miles from the Pacific Ocean, the area was long thought to be too cool and foggy for grape growing.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Jeb Dunnuck - "The 2021 Pinot Noir Kanzler Vineyard exudes aromas of scorched earth, blackberry, and black licorice. Full-bodied, with a grounding sensibility, ripe tannins, and notes of crushed stones, baked cherry, and tea leaf through the palate, it has a slightly more meaty texture but remains light on its feet. Drink 2024-2032."
