2020 Arietta 'Quartet' Red Blend Napa Valley

Winemaker Notes: The 2020 vintage produced wines that are bright and pure, with notes of raspberry, vanilla bean, and a surprising mix of pit fruits—apricot, plum, even white peach—wrapped in an envelope of cocoa powder and girded by a strong framework of tannin. The wine has excellent focus and an intense perfume, with all of the above fruits, licorice, and floral notes. A huge win for 2020.

Blend: 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 48% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot

James Suckling - "A little steely on the nose, with some seaweed savoriness to the blackberries, lard and dried flowers. Medium-to full-bodied, round and flavorful palate, with dusty tannins tucked in. Linear, with some rusty plums in the finish."


Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "Named in keeping with the classical musical theme and the number of grape varieties in the blend, Marietta's 2020 Quartet is 48% Merlot, 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, with some 90% of the total coming from Carneros. The nose features hints of black olives and faintly herbal nuances set against a core of black cherries. Meant to be approachable young, it's medium to full-bodied, easy to drink and silky in feel, with ample length."


Vinous - "The 2020 Red Blend Quartet is plump, juicy and easy to like. Succulent black cherry, chocolate, new leather, licorice, espresso and spice are front and center. There's just enough fruit density to balance the tannins. Drink this over the next handful of years."
