2021 Tomac 'Rockstar' Riesling Plešivica Croatia

Winemaker Notes: For Tomislav and Martina Tomac, there is nothing more important in winemaking then the soil (rocks) and the cosmic movements of nature (stars) which inspired the name of this wine, Rockstar. The key for Rockstar is to produce a Riesling that speaks of Pleševica terroir. They have a region that achieves the natural perfect balance of ripeness along with high acidity. They are not trying to be Rheingau, Wachau or Alsace, but to show that the pure and true expressions of this region command uniquely superb wines of authenticity.

The Tomac family has been making wine for over 100 years, and has a total of 9ha of vineyards, including the varietals of Rhine Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and old Plešivica varieties. Many vineyards are very old, up to 80 years!, and all Tomac wines are produced exclusively from grapes from the family's own vineyards.
