2018 Chateau Mukhrani Saperavi Superieur Georgia

Winemaker Notes: Chateau Mukhrani Saperavi displays a bouquet of black mulberry, blackberry and cherry. Exuberant, yet velvety tannins are well balanced.

This wine is made with Saperavi, a dark-skinned, pink-fleshed grape variety originally from Georgia. After selective hand-picking to reach the highest quality of fruit, the grapes are destemmed and the fermentation begins. Extraction is made with pumping over, punching down and rack and return techniques. The malolactic fermentation is done 7 to 8 months after the alcohol fermentation. The juice is fractioned and blended to the final style, 20% of the blend goes into French, American and Caucasian oak barrels. Once mature enough, wine from the barrels joins its other part and only then is prepared for bottling.
