2018 Testify by Daniel Brennan Red Blend Gimblett Gravels
Winemaker Notes: After first taste, the wine evolves into a fuller, rounder palate with distinctly Gimblett Gravels angular tannin structure built to last for many, many years.Full, even, near impenetrable black-hued purple-red colour, very youthful in appearance. The nose is dense with brooding violets, dark spices, wet stone with hints of tobacco, all spice, cloves and brambleberries. The front palate is soft and lush rising to a firm acidity yet fine tannins in the mid palate. The wine finish clean and fresh with lingering stony tannins hints of plum and sweet fruit notes.
Hand on heart, Daniel can testify that with each release, these are the very best wines he can produce. With love, craft, and emotion poured in at every stage, the result is liquid art. All our wines are vegan and vegetarian friendly with no animal products used in the winemaking process.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Wine Enthusiast - "A blend of 80% Malbec and 20% Merlot, this is a muscular, tightly structured wine that's playing the long game. Right now, much swirling in the glass ekes out aromas of cherry and red currant fruit with woodsy spices, cinnamon, mint, cedar and graphite. Tannins are currently massive, and the fruit gets a little lost, but there's still finesse here and a harmony that suggests the best of this wine won't come for quite a while yet. Drink 2025–2035. Editor's Choice."
