Winemaker Notes: Auxey-Duresses is a small Village within the Cote d'Or. The vast majority of the appellation is planted to Pinot Noir, with Chardonnay making up roughly a third of vineyard area. Needless to say, the whites from this region are often overlooked. But they absolutely sing.
From a combination of young and old vines, this Chardonnay is almost crystal clear in colour. Gentle perfumes drift from the glass - fresh cut Granny Smith, blanched almonds and oat biscuit - with a flinty minerality. The flavours of apples and citrus are lean and pristine, but there is a good deal of white pepper, ground nuts and prosciutto rind to build some complexity. Plenty to enjoy and appreciate here.
