2018 Louis Jadot Chassagne-Montrachet Cote de Beaune
Situated in the south of the Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet is one of the five villages that make up the prestigious Côte des Blancs. At altitudes varying from 250 to 350 meters, the vineyards benefit from exposures ranging from east to south and southwest and the wine comes mainly from marly limestone soils. After a long fermentation in tanks, the wine is aged in barrel before bottling.
HARVEST NOTE
This was a somewhat turbulent growing season. Lack of soil moisture and a poor fruit set diminished the harvest volumes.
TASTING NOTE
Full-bodied and rich white with exotic citrus fruit flavors and candied floral notes.

CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Burghound - "Ripe and fresh aromas include those of petrol, rosemary oil and white orchard fruit nuances. There is both fine volume and richness to the delicious and attractively textured medium-bodied flavors that exhibit fine length on the ever-so-mildly rustic finish. This too could use more depth, but my range implicitly assumes it will develop if the wine is allowed a few years of cellaring first. Barrel Sample: 89-91"
