2020 Domaine Jean Chartron Meursault
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Vinous - "The 2020 Meursault Village comes mainly from Les Tillets and Narvaux, matured in around 25% new oak. There is a faint marine influence underlying the cooking apple and pear aromas, gently unfolding with aeration. The palate is well balanced with light peach skin and apricot notes, quite pretty though not complex. Yet for a Meursault Village, I find this very satisfying. Closure: Diam 5 (88-90pts)"
Burghound - "Here too there is just enough wood to merit mentioning on the slightly riper aromas of hazelnut and poached pear that are trimmed in pretty spice wisps. There is fine volume and vibrancy to the succulent, round and delicious medium weight flavors that terminate in a clean and nicely dry finish. This too could use a bit more depth, but I suspect that more will develop if it is allowed a few years of keeping"
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "Pretty and fine-boned, the 2020 Meursault reveals aromas of pear, orange oil, white flowers and hazelnuts, followed by a medium-bodied, lively palate with a delicate core of fruit and a saline finish."
